UPDATE - Beach Drive Paving: Wolf Paving, Michels’ subcontractor, informed Village staff early Friday (11/10) morning that due to asphalt plant issues, they will not be able to complete paving today and anticipate paving to be completed the week of November 13th. They will communicate the new schedule with Village staff and residents. Information will also be posted here.
They intend to pave the first layer (binder course) first and may hopscotch back and forth between each lane to be paved (doing smaller 500-foot sections at a time). Once the binder course is paved, they intend to pave the top layer of asphalt (surface course). Please note that they will place a sticky, oily based tar (tack coat) between the layers of asphalt to adhere the binder course to the surface course. If you have to drive on the tack coat, please drive slowly to avoid having the tack coat kick up onto your vehicle. If the contractor has enough daylight, they will also pave the surface course on the north end of the project and will also apply the tack coat to the north end pavement.
Paving work may begin as early as 7:00 am. Thank you for your patience as Wolf Paving works to complete the paving operations on Beach Drive.
