The Beach Drive watermain project began on August 15th. Project activities began at the north end of Beach Drive and includes relocating the water main adjacent to the roadway, abandoning the water main presently located behind private property, and replacing water service laterals. The contractor will install the water main on the north end of Beach Drive first, then mobilize to the south end to install that section of water main, then install the water service laterals.
The water main work is expected to last approximately one month. After the water main is completed, we anticipate the remaining portions of the project (revetment, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, paving and landscape restoration) to be complete by late October. The completion date could be affected by weather delays. We appreciate your patience with the traffic delays that will occur during the duration of the project.
