Home automation technology continues to grow in exponential ways, including the use of video technology. Whether you are using it to watch the dog during the day, keep an eye on children at home, or are concerned about people approaching the home while you are away, more households have personal video surveillance than ever before.
In an effort to partner with our neighbors in the community, the police department has created an opportunity to share the fact that you have a camera outside of your home in the event of a crime in the neighborhood. This registration program provides information that the camera is present -- it does not provide any access to the video footage.
In the event of a crime in the area, an officer may contact you and ask you to review the recorded footage for possible evidence that would help solve / prosecute the offense.
If you are interested in sharing the presence of the camera as a means of community crime prevention, please submit the
Camera Registration Form.
