Review calls for service in the community on CrimeReports
SARS-CoV-2 / COVID19 NOTICE
As a public safety agency, the Fox Point Police Department strives to work closely with our community to provide a safe place to live. As the United States works to address the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the police department will be adjusting our practices and procedures to ensure the safety of our staff and members of the public in accordance with recommendations from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization.
At this time, officers will continue to respond to all calls for service; however, as we monitor this situation and recommendations from health experts change, we may be required to adjust our in-person services. Residents may encounter situations where low priority calls are handled over the telephone or through the use of a self-reporting form. Please understand that these are temporary measures as we work with our healthcare partners.
Effective Immediately, the following services will be suspended by the police department:
- Citizen Fingerprinting
- Use of the police facility for citizen groups / meetings
- Citizen Ride-Along events
- Public tours / group events at the police department (Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, etc)
Please be assured that this level of service will not become the new normal for our agency and we will return to the high-level of personal customer service we strive to provide as soon as possible.
As we work cooperatively to address this viral illness, we ask all residents to engage in strong community hygiene practices as noted below from the CDC;
- Maintain increased social distances for in-person activities, when possible (minimum 6-foot distances).
- Wash hands frequently with soap and water and avoid touching your face. Specifically wash after using restrooms, public spaces and any interpersonal contact.
- Cover your cough with a disposable tissue and discard immediately.
